A little summer exercise in animating a sphere (the whole wip is on the french forum)
The animations are all done without keyframes, this is all xpresso with a “one-slider” setup using the range-mapper node. See the xpresso part of the site for some range-mapper fun.
Heavy gifs ahead!

If you are animating a random movement with xpresso use the Noise-Node and not the Random-Node.
On the left the cube is moved by noise on the right by random.

When you open a new document in Cinema4d the whole thing is empty, very very empty.
If you want to have materials, lights and scene elements loaded at startup you have to create a “New.c4d” document containing those elements and materials in the Maxon/Cinema4d directory.
You can put whatever you want in this document and they will always be there when creating new documents.

Here is the latest “Base-Car” Xpresso.
Base-Car is an easy set-up to animate your cars. The car follows a given spline. You can set up the length and other parameters of your car in the User-Data of the Car-Sys Null-object. This latest version handles a bumpy terrain and has a suspension system. Enjoy!

Hi C4D users!
I have decided to move base80.com forward. I will blog from now on.
This way it is possible to update the site more often and it is done in a breeze.
I will do tutorials, provide models and talk a lot about xpresso.
This blog will also serve as a quick-tutorial site, I will provide answers to questions asked in forums here, so they are easier to find at a later date.
If you have questions or suggestions please drop me a mail.

I am discovering the new features of the Cinema4d 9.5 demo.
Not much new in the xpresso area except the Bitmap-Node.
At first glance this node seems totally innocent and quite useless.
But as I am discovering it, I find very practical uses of it.
I’ll do some small tutorials about the node when I get my real copy of Cinema4d 9.5
For the moment I will just explain the node and its ports.
